A training session on the preparation of school development plans was recently held in the Kochkor district

This session took place on November 15th, 2023 at N. Jundubaeva Secondary School and was organized by the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative foundation under the UNICEF project Girls in Science for the project pilot schools in the Kochkor district. The training was well-attended by school principals, social pedagogues, teachers of STEM classes and enthusiastic students.

 

At the start of the event, Roza Kaiykova, Girls in Science Project Coordinator and Executive Director of the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation, highlighted that the development plans of the pilot schools had undergone analysis during the project's second phase and proceeded to discuss the project's objectives. 

 

Tynchtykbek Tursunaliev, the head of the Education Department in Kochkor District, participated in the event and acknowledged the significance of the Girls in Science project while expressing the schools' interest in the region to undergo gender-sensitive STEM training.

 

During the first part of the event, project expert Jenish Urumov presented the results of the situational analysis of school development plans conducted as part of the project. Gender expert Chynara Davletova delivered an interactive presentation discussing the concept of gender. 

 

In the second part of the event, participants carried out practical exercises on preparing a school development plan, taking into account gender-sensitive pedagogy and the development of STEM subjects.  

 

The UNICEF project "Girls in Science" is implemented by the Roza Otunbaeva Initiative Foundation in partnership with the Child Protection Centre, Technical School of Innovation AUCA,and Enactus Kyrgyzstan.
