Bishkek to host an international conference «Open Educational Resources and Digital Education»

There will be an international conference "Open Educational Resources and digital education" June 23, 2014 from 09.00 to 17.00 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.


The Conference will be held within the "Open Book" project implemented by the International Public Foundation "Roza Otunbayeva Initiative" with financial support from "Freedom of Information" of "Soros-Kyrgyzstan".


The purpose of the conference is to promote ideas of open education and free access to knowledge in the countries of Central Asia and Mongolia. The event is aimed at sharing experiences, knowledge and ideas between the public sector, the educational community, civil society activists and experts in the field of development policy of open educational resources (OER) in the UK, the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, the Republic of Poland, the Russian Federation, the United States and Tajikistan.


The conference will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Sarieva EK, Minister of Education and Science Sadykov K. J., parliament members KR: Osmonoliyev KO, Aknazarova RK, Imanalieva ES representative Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Karimov GK, Representative Government Office Muratov AA, as well as representatives of local authorities from all regions of the country.


The conference will feature several leading practices to implement OER successful politicians countries to the development of digital educational content and provide free access to innovative practices for the implementation of electronic textbooks and other methods to improve access to education, and also presented a draft of the National Concept of Kyrgyzstan Open educational resources.
