“Mom, Dad and I: A Technological Family” Competition brought to us by the Altyn Tuyun National Republican Children’s Engineering Academy.

This annual competition allows parents and children the opportunity to become acquainted with labor processes and to demonstrate their creativity in the realm of technology. Each year a new theme having to do with creativity is chosen. Last year, families built the “homes of the future,” and this year the participants will create a project with the theme "Space City."

Ten families from Altyn Tuyun will participate in the competition. Contestants will perform their work using supplementary materials, but will demonstrate creativity, ingenuity and imagination and will, in a set time limit, create interesting projects. Projects will have to protect children, Altyn Tuyun students. A competent jury will evaluate each project based on criteria like presentation, technical design, originality and practical use. The winners will receive diplomas and valuable gifts, while all contestants will receive certificates of participation. The "Dad, Mom and I: A Technological Family" competition has become a national showcase of the most technologically-savvy families in Kyrgyzstan.

This year’s competition will be part of the Second Festival of Education in the Old Square, April 27, at 12 p.m.
